About Dorothy

_MG_2568(final)

Dorothy Hayden is a singer/songwriter, producer, and self-professed armchair musicologist. Growing upĀ in the South Bay of Los Angeles, Dorothy played both the piano and trumpet, and sang in the church choir starting from a very young age. She wrote more than 200 songs while still in high school in an effort to work through real-life struggles.

Since graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2014, Dorothy has been hard at work on her first full-length studio album. Her diverse musical influences include (but are not limited to): Brian Wilson, Portishead, Fiona Apple, Stereolab, Billie Holiday, Stephen Sondheim, and the video game music of Koji Kondo.

Short in stature, but with a larger-than-life personality, Dorothy is always looking for new and interesting projects. To reach her, email her or fill out the contact form. To sign up for album updates, subscribe at the bottom of the page.
